Week 17--2 Nephi 32:3 How Angels Speak

Hey Loved Ones!

So here's another story similar to the one I told last week, but a friend sent it to me about how his family came in contact with the Church:

His family was raised Catholic. Within a short time, his maternal grandfather and maternal grandmother passed away, and his father's life was cut short when he was very young. His mother's life became very difficult. She had to uproot her family and move where she knew no one, so that she could get a job, which she had never had. She worked very early in the morning and had no car, so she took the bus. One morning it was cold, and a neighbor who recognized her but had never spoken to her picked her up and offered to take her to work. He dropped her off and did not think much of it. A few nights later he had a dream. A man came to him and told him of the neighbor whom he had given a ride to. He told him that her and her family needed to join the Church, and he needed to share the Gospel with them. He didn't know how to bring it up, but he did, and Sister Ayau (my friend's mom) asked him to describe the man. Once he did, she said, "That is my husband. He died several years ago." On account of that dream, their whole family was converted to the Gospel, but again it would have never happened if it were not for one Christian act.

We had a week of ups and downs this week in Franklin. It was Stake Conference, and Elder Titera of the Seventy came to speak to us. There are several people we are teaching who are very familiar with the Bible, and when we told them that a member of the Seventy was coming to visit, they became very excited. "Just like in the Bible?! Just like in Jesus time?!? I'd like to meet that man and hear him speak!" I don't think I'll ever take that for granted again. And even though it is two hours of sitting, and almost an hour away early in the morning, we had people who had never come to church before, like Leona, who brought six year old Daviana who I am so fond of quoting. Daviana behaved wonderfully through the two hours!

A down moment was realizing while President Cleveland spoke, of how this is probably the last time I will see him for a long while :( New mission President this week.

A highlight of Stake Conference for me was hearing a 17 year old boy, Bro Will Ketchum, in Franklin ward speak. He is a ward family history consultant at his age, and going on a mission to Ecuador in a few months. He spoke on how our ancestors want to help us, but because they cannot enjoy the blessings that come from covenant keeping, they are limited as what they can do. Angels speak through the power of the Holy Ghost, (2 Nephi 32:3) and because they do not have the Gift of the Holy Ghost, is it possible we are missing what they would otherwise tell us? Until we do their temple work for them and first HELP THEM, they CANNOT help us!

Love you, But Jesus Loves you BEST!
