Week 13--Lucky 13

Hey Loved Ones,

This week I learned the biggest miracles take the most work. Makes me appreciate every miracle we receive.
Miracle of the week: We felt impressed to go to a street where there were a number of people we could go follow up with--Dowden Drive. Dowden Drive is pretty loaded. We've talked to just about everyone on that street. Some of them are referrals, some are former investigators, less actives, new investigators, and potential investigators.

The first person we felt inspired to visit was Melinda. Sister Gregerson said she couldn't remember too well who of these people was truly interested or not. I didn't have the heart to remind her our first visit with Melinda was awkward--very. But when we showed up, she greeted us cheerfully and came right out to see us and introduced us to her two year old daughter. We talked about the Restoration pamphlet and she said she's been reading it to her daughter over and over again. She introduced us to her fiance, Josh, who hadn't been present before. He had a lot of great questions about the Priesthood and how Joseph Smith received it. "That makes perfect sense," he after hearing the first vision and seeing the picture of Peter, James, and John in the pamphlet.

Before we even got a chance to invite her, Melinda said, "Well I want to be baptized! Can I?" Josh said he'd been baptized before, but he wanted to do it again now that he knew what he was doing.

We invited them to church, and they said they weren't church going people. They would only be interested if church was a concert-like setting. We explained what church was like for us and how we were able to feel the Spirit, and by the end they both agreed to come! They both really opened up after that, and talked about their desires for their daughter and how they wanted a church that would inspire them to sacrifice everything. It reminded me of that quote from Joseph Smith: That a church who doesn't ask for that can have no power to lead men to salvation.

Love you--but Jesus loves you best,
Sister Pugmire
